Lalo Schriffin's "Enter the Dragon Soundtrack". Funky. Bad Ass. Retro. Asian-mystique.

It's like "Big Trouble In Little China" meets "Shaft"

Favourite (new-ish) bands:
Against Me!
Tegan and Sara
Arcade Fire
The New Pornographers
The National
Sufjan Stevens
Radiohead
Sigur Ros
Spoon
Architecture in Helsinki

Favourite old-school bands/artistes:
Joni Mitchell
Bob Dylan
Nick Drake
Fairport Convention
Bruce Springsteen
The Clash
My Bloody Valentine
Television
Beatles
Joy Division

I limited myself to 10 for both categories, or this could go on forever. I am surprised that Against Me! hasn't come up yet, though.

Lately I've been getting into funk.. an underrated genre. Been listening to Zapp & Rogers and The Meters mostly. This stuff is SO much better than hip-hop.

YouTube - Zapp & Roger - More Bounce (Live in Aruba)

YouTube - Zapp And Roger - Dance floor (Live)

YouTube - Meters - Cissy Strut

YouTube - The Meters - Cissy Strut (Live)

I've listened to all of those, minus Trouble Funk however. Cameo is a little too corny for me.

I'm trying to go beyond the main well known funk acts.
