I believe I have the perfect proof to refute the pinball's assertion ([http://www.typologycentral.com/forums/relationships/9231-treating-women-like-ladies.html#post344897) about the lack of mating opportunities for the girly-man.
I give you:
http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii81/Russellfansite/richardedit-1.jpg
He gets plenty...(bizarrely).
He is some variety of EF. He is camp as Christmas.
Other girly men who do/did well with the laydies:
Johnny Depp
Edward Norton
Pete Doherty
James Blunt
Marc Bolan
Bob Dylan (you could twist my arm on this one)
Alan Davies (the INFJ to Mr Fry's ENTP)
Ed Byrne
Eddie Izzard (it isn't necessary to wear drag-thick make-up to be a girly-man, but it does help)
Robin Williams
Mind you, 1 of these is v. hot.
4 are singer/songwriters
The rest are v. funny/talented in a special way
The odds are less favourable for your average pocket-protector type, as in all other things.
So, my advice to girly-men:
Be hot/talented
if you can't be hot, sing,
if you can't sing, be funny.
(Other varieties of men are available).

People are intrigued by contrasts within someone. Thus, people may be attracted to the perceived/potential masculinity within a seemingly girly male.

Never said it was required :P I actually don't care much about looks. This is purely based off of ideals :)
And I've had boyfriends in the past who had very feminine personalities.. They just don't mix well with me.

Ok, but the purpose of this thread is to make girly-men feel good about themselves. Try to stay focused.

Consider how much easier it is for girly men to predate on women if they've been crippled by the funny. It worked for Mr. Blobby, after all.

I apologize. I don't want to bring the tone of your thread down. :) truthfully, I like guys who are not what one would consider typically manly. Probably because the less manly guys have to depend on humor, intelligence, talents, as you said. And I appreciate those qualities. [How could I have forgotten? the shame of it]
The man is Daniel Deronda (of course he's fictional :rolli:).
And this is his living incarnation:

Hugh Dancy, looking suitably girly in a hat.

For some reason I think this quote is appropriate.
Let everything that's been planned
come true.
Let them believe.
And let them have a laugh
at their passions.
Because what they call passion
actually is not some emotional energy,
but just the friction between
their souls and the outside world.
And most important,
let them believe in themselves
Let them be helpless like children,
because weakness is a great thing,
and strength is nothing.
When a man is just born,
he is weak and flexible,
when he dies,
he is hard and insensitive.
When a tree is growing,
it's tender and pliant,
but when it's dry and hard,
it dies.
Hardness and strength
are death's companions.
Pliancy and weakness are
expressions of the freshness of being.
Because what has hardened
will never win.

Hah. There's a reason I said it's still quite a quite a ways off. But I will have you know that while I do not posess authentic victorian style clothes, I do often dress in a way that people say looks antiquated. And, in all honest, if I could have real old clothes, I might. I wouldn't go way far back, though. I want stuff more from around 1850 or so. Mayb a few things from the 1700s would be okay.
I take it this post means we now have your permission to make exhibits out of your perceived weakness?

Yet another reason I say it was still quite a ways off. I'm not extremely effiminate. But if you scan around my posting history (which is lengthy, I know) you will eventually find several posts where I've already gone into detail about the ways that I am effiminate. Never mind the fact that people do frequently assume that I am actually female.
I'm not really cosmetically effiminate. Though I did color my nails one time, but that's about it.
