INFP seems fitting from here.

INFJ, or maybe she's not even an F, I'm not quite sure on that. ENTP maybe?

She strikes me as fairly introverted if nothing else.

I'd still say INFP

I know a couple of people who know Uma personally, and they describe in ways that really sound xNFP to me.

"She is described as having been an awkward and introverted girl " - her as a youngster, courtesey Wikipedia

Wow. How else do they describe her, not even in terms of MBTI necessarily..?

She seems awesome, anyway.
And I think she's really pretty, not in a weird way... her features seem beautiful to me. [/offtopic]

Anyway, INFP suits her.

I'll agree that she's probably an introvert, but I'm not seeing where the F is coming from.

She really seems like a mentally masculine T women to me, but I've only seen her movies.

I think with acting, it's so dependent on F that most actors can probably be safely typed as F by default until proven otherwise... How else do they get under the skin of other people's emotions in order to play them themselves?

Can you explain how she is a T?

I think T's can be just as good at faking emotion.

I just get a very cognitive vibe from her. She seems mentally quick and sharp as well as cool and collected.

Ah, I'm glad that you brought that up. She apparently has an IQ of around 160. This high level of intelligence could make her come across as a T, when in fact she is just a very bright F.

Were are you getting the F from is what I'm wondering. Just because she's an actress?

I feel that she has that rich INFP Fi going on.

I'd bet $100 on INFP vs. ISFJ

mlittrell
09-29-2008, 04:38 PM
yes ISFJs can be actresses lol. she has a very SJ demeanor and not ISTJ.

EDIT:

Im down for that bet

EDIT2:

Make it $200 lol

She was weird and artsy in high school (boarding school in New England, IIRC). Hippie-ish then. She apparently kinda smelled. LOL Supposed to be not as into the Hollywood lifestyle.

just wondering why people are heading towards INFP

might be right for all i know lol

Jack Flak
09-29-2008, 05:08 PM
Mostly because, as usual, she simply reminds me of several other "confirmed" INFPs who you don't know, so it's only for persuading me.

mlittrell
09-29-2008, 05:09 PM
ahh well she has the disposition of many isfjs i know. stalemate lol.

Jack Flak

I typed my aunt as ISFJ, and she's no Uma.

mlittrell
09-29-2008, 05:20 PM
well ISFJs can differ within type.

EDIT:

I have oodles of INFP friends and i would say none of em are umas lol

Uma's very insecure, you have to bear that in mind when typing her. She has some body image disorder (Wiki it) so she has a very low self image.

you all are putting way too much stock into MBTI. It's an indicator and actors are the most difficult to type because they are always changing who they are for work.

mlittrell
09-29-2008, 05:52 PM
anyone can have that problem. they just tend to go about it (handle it) different ways.

you all are putting a lot of stock in MBTI. It's an indicator and actors are the most difficult to type because they are used to playing all type of characters.

that is why i practically never type actors

Listen you! I only changed the OP because I genuinely have been persuaded by the arguments of others that she could be an ISFJ. I still favour INFP however. I wouldn't have changed it if I hadn't felt that it was right

there is a big difference between ISFJ and ISFP
