I am an ENFP female trying to see the potential with an INFP male.

We have great conversations which I take as a good sign.

He is very open about his thoughts and ideas but not his feelings.

How do INFP like to express their feelings?

What other ways may he be "telling" me without being direct?

I'd say your outlook is hopeful. I tend to guard my feelings the closest when I am interested in the person.

What is helpful to you to feel more comfortable and more open with someone who you are romantically interested in?

Knowing they share my sentiment. Some INFPs need lots of words of affirmation, and others only like small doses. Just avoid getting too saccharine at first.

If he isn't experienced in relationships, I can pretty much guarantee he is over thinking EVERY. SINGLE. STEP. Having confirmation that I'm welcomed and appreciated can help me loosen up a bit if I'm nervous. Luckily, making people feel welcomed and special is an ENFP gift!

I am happy to be patient because my assumption is he is inexperienced.

My fear is that he will never be expressive or affectionate and that would be painful for me.

When he decides to open the floodgates, you probably won't be able to shut them up. Be careful what you wish for! :cheese:

My ENFP-ness thinks "Bring it on!"

But I know what you mean.

Thanks!
