Aww yeah! :pornstar:

Oh wait, the test results (from INTPc):

Let's do this a third time!

I retook this, here is my old results:

Ne
Te
Ti
Si
Ni
Fi
Se
Fe
By focusing on the strongest configuration of cognitive processes, your pattern of responses most closely matches individuals of this type: INTP
By only focusing on the cognitive process you identified with most, your pattern of responses most closely matches individuals of this type: ENTP
Your self-assessment curve: -1

My new results:

Your Cognitive Development Profile
The forty-eight questions you rated earlier tap into the eight cognitive processes. Some questions tapped into basic or developed use of a process used by itself, while other questions tapped into use of multiple processes at once. The profile below is based on your responses. The number of squares indicate strength of response. The equivalent numeric is shown in parentheses along with likely level of development.

Cognitive Process - Level of Development (Preference, Skill and Frequency of Use)

extraverted Sensing (Se) ******************** (20.3)

introverted Sensing (Si) ****************** (18.2)

extraverted Intuiting (Ne) ************************************************** ** (52.8)

introverted Intuiting (Ni) *********************** (23.1)

extraverted Thinking (Te) ******************************* (31)

introverted Thinking (Ti) ******************************************** (44.6)

extraverted Feeling (Fe) ****************** (18.3)
limited use

introverted Feeling (Fi) ******************************* (31.5)
good use

Summary Analysis of Profile
By focusing on the strongest configuration of cognitive processes, your pattern of responses most closely matches individuals of this type: ENTP

Lead (Dominant) Process
Extraverted Intuiting (Ne): Exploring the emerging patterns. Wondering about patterns of interaction across various situations. Checking what hypotheses and meanings fit best. Trusting what emerges as you shift a situation?s dynamics.

Support (Auxilliary) Process
Introverted Thinking (Ti): Gaining leverage (influence) using a framework. Detaching to study a situation from different angles and fit it to a theory, framework or principle. Checking for accuracy. Using leverage to solve the problem.

If these cognitive processes don't fit well then consider these types: INTP, or ENFP

As usual, my Ne trumps my Ti. But I am so not extraverted. At least my Ti came out on top of Te.

Cognitive Process Level of Development (Preference, Skill and Frequency of Use)

extraverted Sensing (Se) ************************** (26.7)

You have to do it when you start the thread. There should be an option towards the bottom: "Yes, post a poll with this thread". Mark the box and it'll take you to the poll creation screen when you submit your thread.

Otherwise a madmin has to add it.

You can enjoy organising yourself... doing sensory stuff like painting. Oh, and it has a 6 month motivation dip at one point. You get more in touch with your feelings and go through an INFP crisis, then reconcile with your INTP logic inside. A bit more introversion leads you away from the ENTP feeling as you explore your psyche*

Nothing! I like ENTPs!

I remember when I was younger and painfully shy (I wouldn't even order at a fast food restaurant). I wonder if the social disorder just wasn't inhibiting my true type.

If I am ENTP, I don't gain energy from physical interactions with people, but from external ideas/concepts/objects.

I could see E or I for you. The same thing I said about Rajah also applies to you--your problem-solving style is distinctly E to me. You both seem to want to hold a problem in your hands and inspect it from all angles. An introvert is more likely to internalize a problem and "cook" a solution from within, IMO. You're more public with your problem-solving than she is, but with you moreso than with Rajah, I sometimes get the impression that your openness is a ruse meant to protect your core by putting out a viable impression of openness so you can keep the innermost innermost to yourself.

I haven't turned my ringer on in years. That sound makes me very anxious. I can't help but think whoever is calling wants something and that stresses me out. As for the fear of ordering fast food, I can relate. I used to have panic attacks when I was younger and had to go places that were full of people. I got so tired of feeling like a prisoner I would force myself to eat out at restaurants in public alone.

Absolutely.. my legal and analytical training have led me to be more of a problem solving extravert. I tend to bounce ideas around in a public environment - flip chart and coloured pens with a couple of people. It's how I create but I'm sure it comes from being an introvert that HAS to work in a group. I usually lead, and I adopt an energised style.. I'm sure it's an alternate "face" for me.

I was thinking more like a shiny, glossy exterior that hides a pale and vulnerable interior, maybe one that needs a respirator to breathe.

Right. I'd say... this is the "faces" thing. So an NT can have an SF party face. It's still kinda leaned back and relaxed, but it's fronted SF. I've had a professional MBTI assessor say I present SF (and even ESFP) in a social environment quite clearly, despite being a probable INTP. She told me she sees this a lot.. it's a learned defense mechanism mixed with a comfort-in-the-own-skin-as-we-get-older thing.
